SUNLESS DAZE: News

So there were 3!! After the dust settled there were 3 left standing,Doug Nien,Jeremy Scott,and Dave DelVecchio. " We spent this year road testing this line up,and it's going over real well!!" says D.Nien . "We get along real well and enjoy each others company, and that is key to making music and being able to travel" say's Dave. The soon to be released single ,"Somethings Wrong" gives you a glimpse into what the next CD will be like. Melodic with loads of aggressive egde may be one way to describe the music to come. Bottom line is this line up more than works,and is ready to kick ass.

The New single "Something's Wrong" has been road tested and approved. It has ellements from songs on Deep Roots but with an edge and energy that Dave brings to the band on drums. We are having a great time making music and it shows. We decided to release a single or two before the entire cd simply because we have all waited long enough for new music ,fans and radio included. We just wanted to give you all an update on the music and we can't wait to party with you all at the shows. Stay tuned to find out what stations and shows that will debut our new music.

Dave and I would like to thank all of you who tuned in to our special interview with Bette Carl on Hooah Radio,the station that salutes the Troops,Vets and their families. Frank in Iowa we would love to get there,Texas sounds good too. The reach that Hooah Radio has is amazing and to know your music is there for the Troops in combat zones is great . We would like to thank a guy who goes by the name Cheesesoda on Last fm. He has posted "Deep Root's " on his page and has helped spread the word for us out there. In all the excitement over the new material we forgot to make a formal announcement here on the Sunless Daze site."Dave Del Vecchio is now the drummer for Sunless Daze!! " Mike Citro served the band well I just felt after trying a few things it was time for a change".(D9)A long time friend of Dougs, Dave Del Vecchio had filled in ,they jammed a bit and it felt great. They spent time together in a band called Troubled Child,and also Unoccupied . " We always had a connection"(D9) and from the sounds of the new material to be released, he was right!! Dave has great respect for Mike Citro."Mikey C is a very solid drummer,I know I had to learn his chops". (D.D.) What Dave brings to the band is a unique style that adds an edge to the new music. Rock meets Metal, meets Country ? Sunless Daze music is now available @ the CMT website."I think its a great thing that a network like CMT supports fresh new music and artists ,even if their genre is not in their every day line up" say's Doug Nien . It may be in part to show's like Gone Country with John Rich, which featured Metal frontmen like Dee Snider (Fellow Long Islander) and Sabastian Bach in the CMT line up. Well it's true ,we have been testing new material live. "It's a great way to see how it will be recieved before it is released " says Mike Nien. "It's been a while since the Deep Root's cd has been out there and we have a ton of new stuff waiting for our fans" (D9) It's the first you will hear Jeremey Scott in the studio recording his take on the Sunless Daze style of Rock Meets metal music!! Well after a few years passed Sunless Daze has revived The Rock Rising Tour.With the help of Vipen Studios the show will expand to hit more Venues.This is a show that really is ment to pump indie Rock/Metal recording artists,and in most cases the headliners will play a longer than normal set.The show also encourages new bands and musicians to move forward,we give away a brand new guitar at every tour stop.Vipen Studios will be giving away rehersal time to audience members that have bands(New York area) and at the end of the tour one band from the audience will win a 1 song demo complete!!.Just so they can have an awesome radio ready single.(all shows)We have more potential sponsors as well, so no telling what else will be given away.Bands will have cd's and merch available at every show .Real indie recording artists will join Sunless Daze at every stop.We will also choose a newcomer band,a band of young ,hard working,hard rocking,musicians that need to get their feet wet to open the show. When asked what is it about playing shows with 80's style national touring acts D9 say's "I think it's great for all parties".Have you been to a Dokken Show in the last cpl of years?They can still pack a house,and they continue to make great music to this day orig members or
not.We are exposed to their fans and we bring our fans to them,some of which are 16 -25 and may not know them otherwise.Bands like these are still viable today.Alot of these bands have never stopped making music.And as long as we get the opportunity to share a night with these bands we are going to do it.Our music has a common thread to bands like these and it mixes well in the line up!!
